In a recent online talk, renowned physician and bestselling author Gabor Maté sat down with Prince Harry to talk about mental health, loss and trauma. Vanity Fair reports the British royal shared that recreational marijuana use made him realize the medicinal properties of the plant and of other psychedelics. In his recent autobiography ‘Spare’, the prince recounts having a profound chat with actress Courteney Cox’s bathroom garbage bin after indulging in some mushroom chocolates. The trash can must have given some solid advice, because during the interview he maintained that psychedelics were a fundamental part of his journey to heal from trauma.

Maté is a highly respected expert in the field of addiction and trauma, having authored several books on the subject, including his latest book “The Myth of Normal” and “When the Body Says No.” His work has been instrumental in changing the way we view addiction and mental health, emphasizing the importance of understanding and addressing the underlying causes of these issues. He appears as an expert in both DOSED and DOSED: The Trip of a Lifetime, as he is a vocal proponent of using psychedelics in the treatment of addiction and trauma.

Prince Harry has spoken publicly about experiencing childhood trauma, which he attributes to the death of his mother, Princess Diana, when he was 12 years old. He has described the impact of her death on his mental health and his struggles with grief and anxiety. Additionally, Harry has spoken about the pressure and scrutiny that comes with being a member of the royal family, as well as the tensions within his family.

Our new film ‘DOSED: The Trip of a Lifetime’ follows one woman’s journey as one of the first people in decades to receive legal access to psychedelics. The film’s Academy Award-qualifying theatrical tour will debut on April 21, 2023. Watch the first teaser trailer and see screenings times for more info.
